Ritual’s own documentation explains how that works: ordinary EVM transactions run the normal way, while heavy jobs such as large language model inference and web requests run once inside trusted execution environments and are verified, instead of being repeated by every validator. The docs list 16 precompiles covering AI inference (LLM, ONNX and FHE), HTTP calls, long-running tasks, agents, authentication and privacy tools, plus a built-in scheduler so contracts can trigger themselves later without outside keepers. The earlier product, Infernet, lets developers call AI models from smart contracts on Ethereum and Layer 2s such as Base and Arbitrum, according to The Block. Ritual Chain is still on testnet (chain ID 1979, about 350ms blocks), and the docs name RITUAL as the native currency used to prepay precompile calls.
The founders are Niraj Pant and Akilesh Potti. Fortune reported in November 2023 that Pant joined Polychain Capital as a 19-year-old intern and went on to invest in more than 30 companies, including dYdX and Compound, while Potti worked at Palantir before Polychain. The TGE Everyone Is Watching
Three signals point to a launch this quarter. COINOTAG reported on September 16, 2026 that Coinbase added RITUAL to its listing roadmap, which means the asset is under review rather than approved for trading. MEXC opened a RITUAL pre-market at 09:00 UTC on September 30, but its pre-market page still shows the trading period and settlement time as TBD and no price data. ICO Analytics lists the TGE as October 2026 with $25 million raised across two rounds. Against that, Bitrue’s September 22 guide and TokenRadar’s October 5 page both say Ritual has not confirmed a date. A thin Polymarket contract tracked by Lines.com priced a launch before December 31, 2026 at about 79% in May, on total volume of only $1,459, so that number tells you very little.
Tokenomics are mostly unofficial. MEXC lists a total supply of 10 billion RITUAL, and Bitrue says third-party reports point to about 18%, or 1.8 billion tokens, unlocking at launch, which Ritual has not confirmed. TokenRadar notes that an official allocation chart has not been published and that a reported 50 million RITUAL community allocation is also unconfirmed. Planned uses are gas fees, node staking incentives and governance. On airdrops, Ritual ran an ambassador program from June 17, 2025, with Discord roles such as Initiate and Pledged to Synful, but no official airdrop or claim page has been announced. What the Community Actually Liked About It
The team and backer list is the first thing people mention. Founders who spent years at Polychain, a Series A led by Archetype, a Polychain top-up and advisers such as Arthur Hayes and NEAR co-founder Illia Polosukhin (named in Bitget Wallet’s guide) give Ritual more credibility than most AI tokens. The technical pitch is also clear: instead of an AI chatbot with a token attached, Ritual is trying to make AI inference a native feature of the chain, so contracts can use models and web data directly and agents can run on their own schedule.
The community is large for a project with no token. Bitget Wallet counted more than 54,000 Discord members in June 2025, and DropsTab showed about 211,900 followers on the @ritualnet X account. There are also practical risks.
