Steem Price Prediction 2026, 2027, 2030, 2050 | STEEM Spikes Again on Upbit

This Steem price prediction covers one of crypto’s oldest social tokens, which has been swinging hard on Korean exchanges this month. STEEM rose about 9% to 12% on September 24, 2026, landing on CoinGecko’s top gainers list at around $0.064 to $0.066. The move was led by Upbit, South Korea’s biggest exchange, which handled close to 60% of STEEM’s trading volume. It was the second sudden spike in less than two weeks, and like the first, it came with no clear news behind it.

What Is Steem (STEEM)?

Steem is the blockchain behind Steemit, a social platform where users earn tokens for posting and voting on content. Steemit was founded by Ned Scott and Dan Larimer and launched on July 4, 2016, and it was one of the first big experiments in paying people for social media activity. Larimer left in 2017, and the company laid off 70% of its staff in 2018. In February 2020, Justin Sun’s Tron Foundation bought Steemit Inc, sparking one of crypto’s most famous governance fights, and much of the community left to start a new chain, Hive, in March 2020.

On CoinGecko, STEEM was around $0.064 on September 24, with a market cap near $36 million and about 559 million tokens circulating. There is no maximum supply. The all-time high was about $8.57 on January 3, 2018, according to CoinMarketCap, which leaves STEEM more than 99% below its peak. The all-time low came very recently, about $0.034 on August 18, 2026, so the token has nearly doubled in about five weeks.

The Upbit Spikes That Sent It Vertical

The September 24 move was clearly Korean. CBC News reported STEEM at 88.8 won on Upbit’s KRW market that day, up 11.56%, with about 10.4 billion won traded, and framed it as traders focusing on individual altcoins while US stocks were weak. Xangle later showed about 90.7 won and 24 hour volume of about 38.5 billion won. No listing, partnership or Justin Sun news was tied to the move, and CoinGecko’s daily data shows it happened within the day on Korean time, with daily volume of only $3.4 million to $3.8 million on September 23 and 24.

An even bigger spike came on September 13 and 14. CoinGecko recorded about $154 million in daily volume on September 14, up from about $3.5 million the day before, and STEEM briefly traded near $0.074, up about 58%. Korean outlet JobPost reported an Upbit high of 94.3 won that was given back the same day, and said no clear project-specific news could be confirmed. STEEM also jumped more than 30% on February 25, 2026, on more than $77 million in volume and rising futures positions. That pattern of sharp, news-free spikes is typical for STEEM on Upbit.

What the Community Actually Liked About It

For traders, STEEM’s appeal is its behavior rather than its fundamentals. It is a well-known name with deep liquidity on Upbit, a small market cap and a history of fast moves, which makes it a favorite for short-term Korean traders chasing momentum. Having just set a new all-time low in August, it also looked cheap to anyone betting on a bounce. KuCoin Square posts during the September spikes were more cautious, warning people not to chase the candle.

Steem still has a loyal base of long-time users who remember Steemit as one of the first places to earn crypto for writing. The chain is still running, and posts and rewards still flow, even if much of the original community moved to Hive. An X account called @CryptoPatel described STEEM in August as “effectively abandoned by its community,” according to CoinMarketCap’s summary, while other posts from the same account called it an accumulation range, which shows how split opinion is.

Timing matters with a coin like this. Buyers who arrive after a spike has already made headlines have often ended up paying near the top, because the traders who started the move tend to sell into that attention. The September 14 spike is a good example: most of the day’s gain was gone before the day ended.

Steem Price Prediction 2026, 2027, 2030, 2050 (STEEM)

This Steem price prediction table runs a statistical model against the coin’s live market data (current price, volatility, market cap, and supply schedule) rather than assuming the Korean spikes continue. It is not trying to predict the next Upbit rally, it is showing a realistic range if STEEM’s current volatility and price pattern continue. The monthly table below rolls forward automatically to always show the next 36 months from today.

How this Steem forecast was calculated

Every input below comes from live market data and is re-checked daily. Nothing here is a guess dressed up as a number, and you can check the working yourself.

  1. Tier: Steem is classified as a micro cap asset (market cap $34.58M). Larger assets are given lower growth rates, because a coin already worth billions cannot repeat the returns of one worth millions.
  2. Volatility: 88% annualised, measured from 2160 real price observations over the last 90 days. This sets how wide the minimum-to-maximum range is.
  3. Growth rate: a base of +33.6% per year for this tier, adjusted for category and liquidity (hot), giving +33.6% per year.
  4. Market cycle: the four-year Bitcoin halving rhythm is applied on top, so a drawdown year and a post-halving expansion year are not treated the same. The next halving is expected in 2028.
  5. Reality check: every maximum is clamped so the implied market capitalisation cannot exceed $15.00B for an asset of this type. Any figure marked capped hit that limit.

Minimum and maximum are the 10th and 90th percentile of a log-normal distribution. That means roughly an 80% chance the real price lands inside the range, if the model's assumptions hold. They frequently will not. Ranges are scaled by time0.42 rather than the square root of time, because crypto volatility mean-reverts over multi-year horizons.

Not financial advice. This is a statistical model applied to public market data. Crypto assets are highly volatile and you can lose everything you put in. No model predicts prices, including this one. Do your own research and never invest money you cannot afford to lose.

How To Buy Steem (STEEM)

  • Buy STEEM on a centralized exchange that lists it, such as Upbit (STEEM/KRW), Poloniex or Binance.
  • To use STEEM on the Steemit platform, you will need a Steem account and wallet.
  • Note that Binance removed its STEEM/USDC pair on August 21, 2026, though STEEM itself remains listed there.
  • Position-size like it can go to zero. STEEM has repeatedly spiked and crashed on Upbit without news, has no supply cap and is more than 99% below its high. Nothing here is an entry signal.

Put simply, STEEM trades more like a momentum vehicle than an investment in a growing platform. That can make it exciting for short-term traders, but it also means the price can fall back to its lows as quickly as it left them, with very little warning.

Is STEEM a Good Investment? The Honest Risk Warning

The pump-and-fade pattern is the biggest risk. STEEM has spiked without news in February, mid-September and again on September 24, 2026, and in mid-September the Upbit high was given back within the same day. Upbit handles close to 60% of STEEM’s volume, so a single exchange and a single group of traders drive most of the price action. Korean markets have a long history of odd moves in Steem-related tokens: Steem Dollars jumped 671% in one day in January 2025 before Upbit delisted them in February 2025, when more than 99% of their trading happened there.

There are structural issues too. STEEM has no supply cap, and its inflation started at 9.5% in 2016 and is slowly stepping down toward 0.95%, which by our own estimate puts today’s rate somewhere around 5%. The 2020 takeover showed how control can shift when exchanges vote with their customers’ tokens, and we could not confirm who controls the network’s block producers today. Binance has already removed one STEEM pair. If you want to compare STEEM with another older coin whose price is being driven by Korean exchange activity, our ICON price prediction covers a similar story.
